My practice in creation + research focuses on and is enriched by the mutations produced through the biological and artificial collaboration between organic processes involving agents of flora, fauna, and fungi. These, along with contextual, conceptual, and technical factors, foster a practical reflection on decomposition, composting, and our relationship with the soil—how we work with it and the ways we inhabit it. I am fascinated by twisted forms, which I identify in the entangled vines of yagé, earthworms, rivers, road-trips and human intestines. I have named my creative method the 'composting method,' through which I proceed by blending materials using post-production and cultivation techniques. I refer to my creative processes as 'operations,' precisely due to the surgical approach with which I manipulate pieces as organisms, and because of its etymological meaning, which encompasses interpretations of a 'work'—whether in the artistic practice or other fields of human creation. Lastly, I would like to highlight that I have classified my work under the category of 'Aesthetic Humility,' which refers to the effective and conceptual artistic creation of the earth as a material, concept and hospitable space with fertile soils, shaped through my artistic practice.
